Eat it for your Heart.

Rich in Omega 3 oils EPA and DHA, these essential fatty acids help promote heart health and prevent heart disease.  The American Heart Association recommends eating two high fat fish meals, like sockeye, per week.

Brain food

Around 2/3 of your brain is made of fat.  DHA is the most abundant fat in the brain.  Children need it for brain development.  Adults need it for good brain function.  Seniors need it to prevent cell loss, possibly leading to Alzheimer’s disease.  Your body can make DHA from other Omega 3 fats, but the process is inefficient. The best source for DHA is – DHA! , like that found in salmon.

The Rest of your Body
It is not only your heart and brain that reap the benefits of eating salmon. The anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties of sockeye are good for building muscle and lubricating joints.

If you are not currently eating fatty fish twice a week, our Smart Salmon is the most convenient and delicious way to get started. Give it a try and please feel free to leave us a comment on our Contact Us page.  We’d love to hear from you.

All Natural and Sustainable
From the crystal waters of Bristol Bay to the majestic Taku River, every summer Alaska’s rivers and streams teem with deep red sockeye salmon. A life-giving staple of the native peoples for centuries, sockeye is the kind of healthy choice that we serve to our own families.

Our sockeye salmon is wild caught, then quickly frozen and processed in Alaska, shipped to Seattle where it is portioned and then packed in our plant in Sumner, WA.  There are never any additives or preservatives added to the salmon and our sauces are all natural.   Salmon is one of the world’s most perfect superfoods.  Smart Salmon is superfood plus super convenience.

Wild Alaskan sockeye salmon is also an eco-friendly and sustainable resource.  All the Alaskan salmon fisheries are certified by the Marine Stewardship Council as sustainable and well-managed fisheries.  The state of Alaska counts the fish as they come into the rivers to spawn, and doesn’t allow any commercial fishing until enough salmon have passed the checkpoint to ensure that adequate stock levels are maintained.  For this reason, Alaskan salmon is one of Seafood Watch’s “best choice” selections and the Environmental Defense Fund rates Alaskan wild salmon as one of its ten eco-best choices for seafood.

Eating wild Alaskan salmon is good for you, good for the environment.
